The Partnership Strategist supports the Partnerships and Evaluation team in developing and facilitating high performing partnerships that align with corporate direction and the future needs of the organization.

Reporting to the Manager of Partnerships and Evaluation, you will be responsible for developing practical and tailored tools and processes through a customer-centric and evidence-based lens.

You will also support facilitation and strategic planning services to support the development or management of a wide variety of partnerships.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton's Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, and in the context of a respectful and inclusive style, you will:
Support reviews of partnership activities, processes and service requirements in order to develop solutions to improve relationships, processes and productivity
Support the design and delivery of facilitation with partnerships for the purposes of scoping and planning, relationship and trust building, visioning and implementation, dispute resolution and issues management, scaling or closure

Conduct current state assessments, best practice research and analysis, literature reviews, and environmental scans to identify and evaluate best partnership practices for operational and service implementation.

Assist in the development of comprehensive interactive strategies to understand the needs, concerns and priorities of partners and stakeholders in order to inform strategic decisions
Support the establishment of governance structures, partnership types/models, and partnership foundations for key department and branch initiatives, including common agenda/shared vision, public value, partner identification, and documentation such as MOUs, TOR, etc
Assist in the development of strategic plans and evaluation frameworks for the programs and services delivered by partnerships
Consult on a broad range of concepts, ideas, opportunities and challenges with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders.
Assist with all aspects of highly effective project and change management require to complete assignments
Provide timely and accurate communication to a range of audiences using multiple forms of communication including verbal and written presentations
Coordinate with Department staff to ensure coordination and integration within the Department and with external stakeholders
Other duties as assigned


Qualifications:


  • A University Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences or a related discipline
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in a combination of strategic and operational business planning
  • Ability to build effective working relationships, communicate, persuade and negotiate with external stakeholders, peers, and all levels of management
  • Knowledge and experience in the principles of partnership development, change management, and facilitation are an asset
  • Ability to effectively gather, synthesize, integrate and interpret information from a wide range of resources and perspectives
  • Ability to interpret, analyze and make recommendations based on policy, processes, systems, and quantitative and qualitative data sets
  • Experience working within a nonprofit or public service environment in a multistakeholder or collaborative based approach
  • Problems solving skills, interpersonal skills, teamwork and conflict resolution skills
  • Research and analysis skills, with demonstrated ability to move from concept/theory to practical design and implementation
  • Communication skills including verbal, written, presentation and facilitation, with an ability to adjust communication style to a diversity of audiences
  • Experience working in a dynamic workplace, managing competing deadlines and ability to make timely decisions and recommendations
  • Change agent, with strong interpersonal skills and attitude, with a willingness to try new things
  • Skill and ability with Google Workspace (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in the context of a respectful, inclusive and serviceminded style
