    Description
    *Owner Operator Driver**Speedy Transport Group Inc.* started small and grew fast. Founded in 1941 as a local, same-day parcel pick-up and delivery service, Speedy Transport has grown to become one of central Canada's premier carriers. Today, we operate sophisticated transport services from terminals along the Windsor-Quebec City 401 corridor, with a fleet of over 450 owner-operators, and 500+ employees operating out of seven main terminals. With construction on an additional three sites currently underway.

    _*What Speedy Transport Has to Offer*_

    • Fuel Cap – 42.5 cents/litre – does not change with market conditions

    *Job Description*The purpose of this position is the delivery of customer's freight in a productive, safe, error free, and time sensitive manner. The Owner Operator will ensure freight is properly delivered with the proper bill control and supporting documentation.

    _*Duties & Responsibilities*_

    • Operate and drive tractor-trailer to transport goods and materials over long distances.
    • Plan trip logistics and obtain required documentation to transport goods.
    • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights and turning signals, brakes and cold storage.
    • Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and follow safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
    • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
    • Administer bills of lading and electronically maintain logbooks.
    • Communicate with dispatcher, other drivers and customers using communication devices and on-board computers.
    • May transport hazardous products or dangerous goods.
    • All other duties as assigned by Management.
    _*Qualifications*_

    • 2 years of Commercial Driving Experience
    • Own your own truck
    • Clean Record
