About Us:


The Facilities team is responsible for providing high quality facilities and services to the Ivey Community including faculty, staff and students to support the effective operations of a world-class business school.

The team assists each other as required to meet goals, deadlines and to provide coverage in all areas.


Responsibilities:


The Shipper/Receiver (Customer Support Administrator) is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the Ivey loading dock, acting as an intermediary for the transit of goods between the department and its suppliers, and for accurately and efficiently receiving incoming shipments and processing them according to established procedures.

The Shipper/Receiver will prepare outgoing shipments for customers and returns shipments to vendors ensuring the accurate completion of appropriate paperwork.

The Shipper/Receiver also provides resolution to shipping and receiving discrepancies in coordination with appropriate personnel and maintains high quality services to the Ivey community.


Qualifications:


Education:


  • 1 year Community College Certificate/Diploma or equivalent program of study

Experience:


  • 2 years' experience in a shipping/receiving role involving customer serviceoriented tasks
  • Experience preparing, shipping and receiving deliveries is preferred
  • Experience with various dock equipment, including hydraulic lifts and pallet jacks would be an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs using safe lifting techniques and appropriate ergonomic procedures
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy when reserving and communicating confirmation of facility bookings (loading dock), with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines and maintain an organized and effective personal work environment
  • Adapts readily and effectively to changing priorities and demands in a fastpaced department and working in an open concept environment with frequent interruptions
  • Verbal and written communication skills to clearly express ideas in an objective manner, and adapt communication style to suit the situation and audience
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, follow through on work assignments with mínimal supervision, and knowing when to escalate issues to supervisor
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
  • Ability to demonstrate patience and focus to complete detailed administrative tasks (inventory control and asset management)
  • Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, faculty, and other members of the University community
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve departmental goals
  • Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
  • Competency to maintain confidentiality and treat sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to establish rapport with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Familiarity with Western policies and procedures and Ivey programs is preferred
