Responsibilities:
- Deliver the HSE program, ensuring the client's prevention framework is actualized and Best Practices prioritized.
- Act as the HSE focal point to site, project, and management, and coordinate with all frontline managers regarding HSE matters.
- Identify hazards, manage risks, implement and evaluate mitigation measures to eliminate or minimize occupational hazards.
- Conduct daily site visits and evaluate the effectiveness of HSE processes, closing gaps in execution.
- Lead accident investigations and implement corrective actions which effectively correct the causes.
- Interface with the client in a supportive and respectful manner, preparing timely communications and reports.
- Maintain required HSE records and develop and present routine HSE progress reports.
- Facilitate continuous improvement to instill a worldclass safety culture
Qualifications:
- CNESSTcertified health and safety coordinator (CoSS) for construction sites.
- Professional certification (e.g. CSP, CIH, NCSO) and/or an OHS diploma (or equivalent)
- Extensive HSE experience in the construction field including execution of site preparation, installation, and commissioning scopes.
- Bilingual FR/EN
- Leads with consistency and care.
- Proven leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
- Acts with openness and integrity.
- Technically proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and Teams.
- Electrical safety experience including high voltage power distribution environments.
- Knowledge and experience in electrical substation construction
