What will you do?
Responsible for Quality Control Laboratory activities surrounding the evaluation and testing Prepared Microbiological Media (petri plates and tubes used to grow bacteria and fungi) manufactured at MBD Canada


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform product sampling from Manufacturing for sorting/labeling
  • Provide assistance with Stock bacterial plate maintenance
  • Assist in maintenance of QC testing consumables
  • Perform set up of Prepared Medias that are used by laboratories throughout all of Canada
  • Perform maintenance and control of microorganism supply. Provide entering QC result data into our LIS (SAP system)
  • Use and maintain basic laboratory equipment. Engage in administrative duties including filing, maintaining equipment records and recording/collection of QC Data
  • Assists in maintaining standards in accordance with GMP's/SOP's and ISO regulations.
  • Support all company policies.
  • Documentation of testing results and determination of aesthetic quality on plated finished product. Be involved in other duties/projects as needed
  • Review and maintain product compliance specifications, documentation control.
  • Be able to adapt and to learn new procedures and to maintain a scientific and objective approach.

Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities to perform essential functions:

  • would hold a Medical laboratory technology or technician diploma or related Biotechnology field with a minimum of 1 year experience in a microbiology or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Have experience working in a Level 2 laboratory
  • Microbiology experience an asset
  • Computer proficiency (MS Excel etc)
  • Be responsible, reliable and a good teammate
