As a Corporate Paralegal and Admin, you will:
- Assist the in-house legal department in the practice areas of: Corporate Commercial; Technology, IT, Procurement, Privacy, Employment/HR, Marketing, and Real Estate.
- Understand the financial services/lender space (banks, credit unions and other lenders) and be curious about data and fintech advances.
- Assist with the interpretation and project management of incoming Bills/Laws which may affect the organization
- Coordinate, review and submit expense reports and law firm invoices on a timely basis using Concur and provide final approval as necessary
- Maintain an efficient online documentation and filing system (ie: LegalSuite) taking steps to ensure compliance and necessary record keeping requirements
- Perform other duties as required

HERE'S HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE:
- Help prepare and customize various corporate contracts, vendor service agreements, and other corporate agreements.
- Maintain and update internal legal files, policies and contracts (ie: termination dates, renewal dates)
- Assist in preparation of various internal legal reporting, memos, briefings, and executive presentations
- Provide legal research and writing support related to corporate and employment law, technology, IT procurement, privacy, and other commercial contracts
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal lines of business and departmental support groups (ie: finance, HR, etc).
- Organize, attend and participate in departmental meetings
- Keep up to date with upcoming relevant legislation
- Believe in and contribute to technologyrelated process improvements. Question effectiveness of processes and display willingness to change to question traditional ways and leverages existing capabilities to create further value and optimize operations.
- Perform general administrative tasks
HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
years' experience as a Paralegal, Law Clerk, or Legal Assistant in Ontario, with both law firm and in-house corporate experience
- Postsecondary education in the legal field
- Experience and proficiency in the financial institutional/lender space (ie: banks, credit unions, private lenders)
- Previous experience in the technology area (ie: software platform provider, data services) is also considered an asset
- Selfstarter attributes, be proactive and have the ability to take initiative with sound business acumen
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Resultsoriented, with the ability to work in a fastpaced environment and effectively manage several projects simultaneously and be comfortable having to pivot as needed
- Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills in addition to a high level of comfort in dealing with senior management
- Ability to represent the brand of the executive on their behalf, using good judgment and discretion
