The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
Job Summary*You Will Make a Difference By*- Participating in OMA Negotiations Task Force meetings, bilateral negotiations, and other meetings, as needed

  • Guiding the project planning process for negotiations including, preparation and development of timelines and critical paths, consulting with internal and external stakeholders, developing the mandate and monitoring of project status reports
  • Leading/contributing to development of discussion papers, briefing documents, background and presentation materials on assigned topics,
  • Synthesizing and summarizing large volumes of complex information, and preparing documentation and reports as well as critiques of proposals from sections, members and other stakeholders to support contract negotiations
  • Identifying and addressing Negotiation & Implementation issues; conducting supporting evidencebased research and analysis; determining potential impacts on the system, patients, and/or the profession; ensuring the Negotiations Task Force and the Physician Services Committee are informed and understand issues and potential conflicts; and working with committees, the Board, and/or other physician leaders to resolve complex system issues.
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, OMA members, industry colleagues, health care providers, research community representatives, and government officials as part of stakeholder consultations and program scans to facilitate contract negotiations.
  • Providing management and guidance to junior team members, assigning and reviewing work, monitoring work quality and workloads, and providing technical guidance and training as requested.
Requirements That Are Important to Us*- Masters' degree in Business, Health Administration, Economics, Political Science or equivalent.

  • 69 years' experience in project management, analysis, and policy development
  • Leadership and management of resources.
  • Ability to lead a team of crossfunctional resources through project plan and implementation.
  • Applied knowledge and experience in Ontario's health care sector is ideal
  • Experience in relationship management, and conflict resolution,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decisionmaking skills.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships with both internal and external customers/stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience and skills with people leadership, including ability to lead through change.
  • Supports the organization's commitment to respect equity, inclusion, diversity, and antiracism.
