Financial Controller - Edmonton, Canada - Fenceline Rentals Ltd

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and identify variances and report to management recommended actions, i
e:
margin requirements, inventory variation, stock losses/gains.
- Maintain current and forecasted financial budgets while strengthening our costing and margins
- Coordinate the preparation and delivery of all customer invoices/statements and develop a good working relationship with our customers.
- Labour efficiency tracking for all departments.
- Provide vision, oversight and support in the delivery of the financial plan.
- Support the Company ownership in building and maintaining relationships with financial institutions, including preparing and presenting various current and projected financial results.
- Continually evaluate current processes for the opportunity to improve and reimplement revised processes for financial and operational efficiency.
- Develop, lead, engage and assist a small, but strong team of admin and billing clerks.
- Demonstrate ongoing leadership and professional ethical standards within the workplace.
- Required to use structured coaching designed to motivate and develop the members of the Finance team in order to achieve corporate & personal goals.
- Special projects as required.
- Act as our internal HR department lead
Accounting Functions
- Balance sheet account reconciliations
- A/P approvals for billing clerks
- A/R supervision for A/R clerk
- G/L, bank reconciliations and payroll
- Projecting and monitoring cash flow requirements
- Preparing GST remittance returns
- Preparing detailed reconciliations and assisting external accountant with yearend reports
- Overseeing regulatory compliance issues
- Perform month end closing duties/process
- Preparing company payroll
- Inventory tracking and management
Experience:
- CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) designation
. - Minimum 58 years of experience in a Controller role within a structure of a privately owned company
- Proven track record in a similar role.
- Certified in payroll administration and knowledgeable in labour standards
Salary:
$95,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
