The Opportunity
The
Team Lead, Financial Planning & Reporting, directly supervises the work functions of a team of approximately 2 senior level Financial Analysts. The Team Lead oversees financial compensation analysis, institutional financial analysis and external accountability reporting. The position is also responsible for the identification of opportunities for innovation, efficiency and cost savings initiatives, coordinating and implementing changes to ensure the achievement of the unit's goals.

Business Reporting & Compensation
- Review and manage timelines to ensure timely submission of accountability reporting to Advanced Education including FIRS, PFD, Tuition Fee Regulation, monthly financial forecasts and quarterly enrollment submissions.
- Maintain currency with legislative changes impacting financial processes, identify financial impacts, recommendations and education to internal stakeholders.
- Review, facilitate and lead the coordination of financial components for regulatory reporting. i.e., Annual Report, Operational Financial Data
- Support SAIT wide analytical requirements such as analysis to support collective bargaining negotiations
- Develop standards for reviewing analysis and reporting with operational units including consultation with stakeholders and process development
- Facilitate the tuition fee process with multiple internal stakeholders, review for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with Employee Services to bridge the gap in data, to support institutional analysis and projects
- Develop standards in the use of financial personnel data, ensuring consistency and accuracy of information to improve budgeting and forecasting
- Provide support in budgeting and forecasting process, inputs include but not limited to timelines and central provisions.
Other Key Responsibilities:
- Participate on crossfunctional committees where finance representation is required
- Stay current on best practices and approaches to financial management and processes through continued professional development
- Identify internal control weakness and make recommendations for improved practices
- Identify opportunities for innovation, efficiency and cost saving initiatives as related to access of information
- Understand the Health, Safety and Environment Management System Manual and promote its objectives
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree, with preference for Business (Accounting)
- Minimum requirement of 5+ years of combined experience in accounting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a mid to large sized organization
- Minimum requirement of an accounting designation: CPA
Salary range:
$71,086 - $116,198
Paid Leave:4 Weeks' Vacation / 14 Flex Days per year
