Primary Responsibilities:

This Position is a 14 month contract opportunity. Travel within the Niagara/Hamilton region is required.
The Territory Associate is responsible for all aspects of sales and merchandising product within our customer's stores.

Merchandising includes stocking product, placing new items into distribution, removing items from distribution and setting sections of product with and without planogram information in both new and existing stores.

Essential Functions:

  • Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).
  • Conduct sales calls, merchandise and explain product set to appropriate retail store locations.
  • Present and sell new items, new placements, and recommend item replacement for slow or discontinued items.
  • Propose items for crossmerchandising.
  • Maintain adequate inventory level by removing outofdate or unsaleable products and reorder as necessary.
  • Achieve monthly sales targets as set out by Retail Development Supervisor.
  • Establish a strong business rapport and a trust relationship with all store personnel and store operations contacts while representing Tree of Life in an ethical and honorable manner.
  • Add, remove, and adjust product on store shelves as directed by planogram. When a planogram is not established, this activity is to be completed in a manner delivering the most profitable combination of product placement available.
  • Audit store shelves, merchandise and position product to obtain maximum shelf space and facings.
  • Ensure all shelf tags are in place. Update on hand inventory with store personnel when necessary.
  • Present upcoming promotional activities with store contact and ensure sufficient orders are in place for features to allow for secondary displays.
  • Create impulse sales through pointofsale material and placement of secondary displays.
  • Check stock in back rooms to make sure all product is out on display.
  • Provide feedback regarding what competition is doing in the marketplace to Retail Development Supervisor for the Customer Development Managers and Marketing Brand Development Managers.
  • Send in weekly display pictures.
  • Prepare and process all paperwork in a timely manner including, but not limited to; Mileage reports, bookings, audits, credits, and expense reports.
  • Complete store relines according to planograms when requested.
  • Participate in new store initial setups when requested.
  • Other duties and special projects as requested.
  • Must maintain safeguards of confidential company information.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude:

  • High School Diploma required with minimum one (1) year of sales/merchandising.
  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and meet safe driving standards as defined by the Company.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, sales and account management personnel to optimize product sales.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to efficiently work independent of direct onsite supervision.
  • Must be able to carry 10 pounds, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • The associate is frequently required to sit and drive and must be able to travel.
