The Associate Registrar, Systems & Technology, under the direction of the Registrar, is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and ongoing support of technology solutions to support the Registrar's Office (RO).

The incumbent will lead a team supporting functional areas of the RO by conducting research on technical solutions, ensuring adequate and thorough requirements gathering and documentation, making recommendations on utilizing technology to improve processes, scoping, and leading projects, coordinating, and performing ongoing testing of current and new systems solutions, and managing risks associated with our systems and technology.

A successful individual in this leadership role must be able to build and maintain solid, long-lasting relationships within the RO to appropriately respond to and support ongoing business needs while understanding how to establish and work within a partnership model with Information Technology to effectively and efficiently utilize technology solutions that are part of the College-wide enterprise architecture.


The incumbent acts as the product owner of key solutions supporting the RO, including the student information system and digital forms tool (Laserfiche).

The incumbent will work closely with Information Technology and Systems (ITS) and other stakeholders to ensure that key systems are updated and maintained and are meeting the business needs of users.

The incumbent will also act as the data steward for RO data, including data within the Student Information System.


Responsibilities:


  • Works collaboratively with ITS to ensure that key systems are updated and maintained
  • Conducts and/or coordinates testing of updates and patches as required
  • Provides ongoing support and training for ROspecific systems
  • Plans and implements enhancements to existing systems
  • Configures RO systems to best support business users
  • Maintain the accuracy of RO data and support data utilization and visualization
  • Works with RO leadership to understand their functional areas and collaborates to find opportunities to improve processes through technology
  • Collects business requirements from RO operational areas and manages projects, including implementing new technology
  • Creates roadmaps for key systems to ensure that business needs are met
  • Conducts research to ensure that the RO is using bestofbreed systems and technology solutions that encourage best practices
  • Priorities RO projects and initiatives based on input from the RO leadership team
  • Works with ITS to ensure technology solutions meet or exceed Collegewide technology standards, and best utilize established practices and existing tools, capitalizing on cost and support effectiveness and efficiency
  • Represents the RO in various technologyfocused groups and committees

Qualifications:

  • Fouryear Degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field of education
  • Seven years of related work experience
  • Ability to learn new systems and technologies
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Business Intelligence (BI) software is considered an asset
  • Proven track record of information management, analysis, research, analytical, and planning skills
  • Experience with implementation of electronic student information systems and/or business requirement tools, business requirement development, or similar is desired
  • Experience with process streamlining, mapping, and project management experience is preferred
  • Proficient in analyzing and solving complex problems
  • Tact, diplomacy, as well as critical thinking, are essential in the role
