In this dynamic, fast paced environment, the
Inventory Control Manager is responsible for overseeing the Inventory Control team to maintain the integrity and accuracy of inventory levels policies and procedures.

This position collaborates with a cross functional team to monitor, verify, and analyze inventory across company locations.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and develop FPI employees in a manner consistent with FPI mission and guiding principles; ensuring employees have the tools and environment to meet their objectives, remain effective and feel appreciated
  • Maintain professional business relationships across all departments to create an efficient information channel; share information and keep others informed of important developments
  • Develop, document, review and communicate inventory management policies and procedures; coordinate activities to improve performance, productivity and inventory accuracy
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders on inventory related matters, including monthly reporting on inventory evaluation analysis and recommendations highlighting any areas of concern
  • Develop, manage, and execute crossfunctional process improvement projects to impact inventory management practices, processes, and metrics
  • Make recommendations to leadership about improvements in inventory life cycle
  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels based upon sales forecasts, production plans, and other relevant information
  • Sustain and improve inventory turns and financial levels to ensure controls and strong performance.
  • Coordinate with the Finance department for inventory audits and assist in preparation of the yearend audit
  • Investigate and reconcile discrepancies and variances; determine root causes of the issues and recommend possible solutions and corrective procedures
  • Assist FPI Branch Managers with inventory counts, verification, discrepancies, and maintenance
  • Coordinate with Sales regarding key dealer inventory. Ensure accuracy and consistency is maintained
  • Oversee inventory control cycle counts and ensure the overall physical inventory accuracy
  • Remain current with the latest inventory management and material handling tools, technology and procedures
  • Implementation and training of Health & Safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations; set a positive example by following regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and maintaining hazard awareness
  • Lead and maintain a positive environment focusing on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop a solid understanding of the company's products
  • Assist with and support team projects and duties as required
  • Other related duties as assigned

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong data analysis and problemsolving skills
  • Strong leadership skills; has the ability to influence people to achieve department objectives
  • Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize and pay high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, MRP logic, ERP and WMS (RF/Barcode) systems
  • Production and Inventory Control knowledge, i.e. Bills of Material structures and routings
  • Able to travel, some international travel may be required (not frequently)

Education/Training

  • Degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or any related field and/ or CPIM designation or certificate or diploma combined with relevant experience
  • Related inventory control courses, seminars or workshops

Experience

  • Minimum five years' experience working in an inventory control and/or production/distribution environment
  • Previous experience supervising inventory and/or supply chain teams
  • Experience in a public company environment and with audit reconciliation an asset
  • Data analysis using ERP systems and reporting
  • Distribution, Receiving, Shipping experience with RF technology an asset
