Central City Brewers and Distillers is a craft brewery in the business of developing and selling international award-winning premium craft beer and high-quality distilled spirits brewed without compromise. Based in Surrey, British Columbia, CCBD was voted Canada Best Brewery of the Year in 2010 and 2012. Its Red Racer brand has become a cult icon among craft beer enthusiasts throughout North America. Founded in 2003 as a brewpub and liquor store in downtown Surrey, CCBD celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2013 with the grand opening of a brand new, 68,000 sq. ft. brewery and distillery on Bridgeview Drive. In 2019 we opened a 40,000 sq. ft. storage facility with approximately 2000 barrels of whiskey ageing in this facility. We are proud of being a local-Canadian Brewery that is currently expanding. In 2021 the company completed installation of a new canning line designated for contract manufacturing.


JOB SUMMARY


The Supply
Chain
Manager leads all aspects of planning and executing CCBD's supply chain, to ensure seamless movement of materials to a 24/7 high-speed production line, and finished goods delivered to the delivery destination.

Reporting to the VP, Operations, the Director of Supply Chain will develop and implement continuous improvement to reduce / manage costs, minimize waste, increase productivity / accuracy of supply chain staff, and develop the supply chain department as a revenue generator providing trucking and warehousing services.

The Supply Chain Manager will liaise with the contract customer management to execute their volume, and ensure processes meet and exceed compliancy with contracts.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inventory Management

  • Oversee / optimize the finished goods inventory levels in the warehouse, and distribution centres
  • Oversee the fulfillment of all POs from all liquor control boards, private liquor stores, restaurants, and overseas customers
  • Ensure all required documentation is created and all delivery orders have been keyed into the ERP
  • Manage inventory levels / accuracy of materials in the warehouse and 3PLs

Procurement

  • Oversee the maintenance of the ERP database including SKU setups for materials / finished goods, and BOMs
  • Oversee the purchase of all packaging materials, ingredients, maintenance parts, equipment, and services used by the plant, ensuring cost control.
  • Oversee the vendor qualification / fulfillment of procedures as stipulated by contract customers and HACCP requirements
  • Ensures the timely input of receipts / transfers into the ERP
  • Ensures all supplier / service provider invoices are reviewed and approved on a timely basis. Develop / implement internal controls for financial approval.

Warehouse operations

  • Oversee receiving, ensuring inspection procedures are adhered to, and ERP is updated on a timely basis
  • Optimize warehouse staffing / retention to maximized productivity
  • Develop / report on / continuously improve warehouse performance metrics
  • Maximize the ROI for warehouse pallet positions by increasing utilization for internal materials and selling warehousing space to contract customers
  • Maintain / maximize the utilization of warehouse equipment including WMS / scanners, forklifts /impact monitors, and pallet shuttles

Supply Chain operations

  • Oversee the flow of ingredients / materials in the facility
  • Optimize the scheduling / coordination with contract customers of outbound trucks
  • Oversee the management of dock appointments and truck traffic in the yard

Logistics

  • Controls / optimizes outbound freight costs for outbound shipping lanes
  • Controls weekly local pickup / delivery shipping costs
  • Maximize the ROI for companyowned fleet by increasing utilization for internal pickups / deliveries and selling trucking services to contract customers
  • Oversee inbound / outbound international movements of plant equipment

QUALIFICATIONS/DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • 23 years' experience in a Senior Supply Chain Management role a 24/7 food or beverage manufacturing plant
  • ERP and WMS management experience
  • Experience with MRP implementation
  • Experience building business cases
  • Extensive skills in administration, organization and attention to detail
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel, Word, Access
  • Ability to perform mathematical and process analysis
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to liaise with individuals of all levels
  • Excel in work situations where multitasking and adaptability are considered strengths
