Testing Centre System Integration Technician


The Testing Centre System Integration Technician supports, implements, evaluates, and promotes testing systems for the Mohawk Testing Centre including RegisterBlast, Symplicity Accommodate, and services including External Testing, Accommodated Testing, Missed and Makeup Testing, Assessments for Success and Pre-Admission Testing (virtual and in person).


The incumbent will support the implementation of current and new systems to ensure the accurate administration of testing for students and applicants.

They will also be responsible for developing online training material to support the testers, faculty and staff.


The position requires a high level of technical knowledge, troubleshooting and analysis to ensure systems accurately capture all testing that takes place at the Testing Centres and other student success initiatives as well as curriculum design experience.

The incumbent will set up testing centre systems and processes, develop online reference and training materials and develop professional development presentations and sessions for faculty and students related to submitting and processing booking requests.

The position requires a high level of accuracy, professionalism, ability to navigate a complex and high paced environment.

The incumbent must be comfortable, stay calm and have strong analytical skills when working with college and department staff, external clients and faculty members and a familiarity with the student accommodations process.

Additionally, legal and ethical statutes are reviewed and interpreted to ensure that Mohawk College is compliant with the Ontario Human Rights Code and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.


Responsibilities:

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

Operations and Programming

  • Directly supporting the creation and implementation of new systems
  • Design material to support students and faculty to understand test bookings policies and procedures
  • During high volume periods, assist in the daytoday operations of the Testing Centre including External Testing, Academic Testing (Accommodated and Missed/Makeup Testing), Assessments for Success and Pre-Admissions testing, preadmission testing for International students including virtual and inperson test administration, arranging for invigilators, answering staff inquiries, troubleshooting student scheduling conflicts and coordinating testing session
  • Create systems to extract, compile, manipulate, verify and input data to foster smooth testing process students
  • Create metrics dashboard to house key data points
  • Meet, inform and offer system solutions to assist with needs of the department.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system problems
  • Development of online training modules and videos for all users (students, applicants, testers, faculty, staff, etc.)
  • Delivery of presentations and PD session to support students and faculty

Information and Data Management

  • Implement solutions to handle scheduling and registration for all incoming testing requests.
  • Manipulate and create outputs data from online student test bookings ensuring students are correctly booking their test appointments.
  • Consult and initiate, as needed, close communication with the Testing Centre Manager to assist in the preparation, manipulation, retrieval, compilation and analysis of data as required for various research projects.
  • Ensure systems handle virtual testing for International students and students with accommodations Design and implement user experience surveys for students and faculty

Technical Support

  • Provide support and technical oversight to Testing Centre staff
  • Provide support to the scheduling and administration of all internal and external tests at the Testing Centres
  • Preparing for upcoming testing cycle by contacting and meeting with all effected departments, verifying testing policies, training staff members, preparing communication to send to students and faculty, identify efficiencies in processes.
