National Bank Financial Markets is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Bank of Canada and a leading Canadian investment dealer that provides research, sales, trading, investment banking and risk management services to institutional, retail and corporate clients.
We are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual who is comfortable working in an unstructured and demanding environment.
The position requires a versatile individual who can support the execution, origination and structuring of fixed income products within National Bank Financial Markets.
The Vancouver sales desk offers investment solutions and advice to institutional investors in western Canada, while providing best-in-class execution and distribution services to assist investors in achieving their objectives.
Your role:
- Working closely with traders and originators to develop appropriate solutions and timely execution of fixed income products
- Collaborating with internal partners to establish effective and valueadded institutional client relationships
- Managing client requests via multiple platforms, and supporting senior salespeople
- Working effectively within corporate governance practices and policies to ensure that all potential risks are appropriately addressed legal/reputational issues and shareholder objectives are covered
- Keeping up to date with market trends, with the ability to discuss both the macro environment and specific trade ideas

Competencies required:
- Bachelor's degree related to the industry and 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
- CFA designation or a corresponding level of professional training
- Ability to work independently and within a team under strict deadlines, with an acute attention to detail and output orientation
- Excellent teamwork, business development and problemsolving abilities
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and execute transactions within tight timeframes
- Experience in conveying complex ideas to audience through both written and verbal communication under tight time constraints and a highpressure setting
Preferred competencies:
- Demonstrated knowledge of money market and fixed income products, including their derivatives
- Superior analytical and technical skills, with high proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg;
- High emotional intelligence demonstrated by managing conflicting interests between parties with good negotiating skills
- Professional experience in fulfilling difficult and demanding requests from external clients and/or internal colleagues
- Good knowledge of and relationships already forged with clientele in western Canada would be an asset
