Applications are currently being accepted for a Temporary Full Time Financial Analyst for the Walkerton site of the South Bruce Grey Health Centre (SBGHC).

This temporary position is not to exceed June 2025.

If the position is going to end prior to June 2025 or exceed June 2025 two weeks' notice will be provided.


Position Summary:


The Financial Analyst's responsibilities include regular monitoring and reporting on financial and statistical data from hospital operations, budget and the analysis of the variance to support informed financial decision-making of the hospital.

They participate as a team member in the preparation, development and maintenance of the hospital's financial and statistical reporting requirements to internal and external users (Manager, MOHLTC etc.).


Position Qualifications:


  • Accounting Diploma or Degree and several years of accounting related experience with hospital financial and utilization data.
  • Hold a recognized professional accounting designation or be at the final stages of completing a professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • Strong ability to formulate, gather, analyze and present financial and statistical information from a variety of data sets to reach a valid conclusion in a clear and concise report.
  • Possess advanced technical skills in the use of Microsoft office, especially Excel with the ability to create: advanced logical, lookup and reference formulas, tables, pivot tables, charts and graphs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Highly developed communication, problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing and prioritizing various projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of people at all levels.
  • Ability to manage workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated selfstarter who is able to build successful working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing situations that may require immediate attention of appropriate person/people for further discussion.
  • Payroll experience and proficiency with Crystal reporting an asset.
  • Demonstrated excellence in attendance required.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Occupational Health and Safety practices.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Institute Health Information MIS Guidelines and the Ministry of Health OHRS guidelines.
