JOB SUMMARY:

Work with the Artistic Producer and Festival Coordinator to proactively arrange school classes to attend the Children's Festival, by developing and maintaining relationships with area schools and community groups.


REPORTING:
Artistic Producer & Festival Coordinator


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Conduct outreach to schools, boards, school councils, board trustees; research and attend educational community events.
  • Promote and book other (nonschool groups (eg. birthday parties).
  • Develop comprehensive databases with current contact names and information for school and community contacts.
  • Organize school contests and scavenger hunts.
  • Promote, confirm and book schools including Adopt a School; coordinate and distribute information.
  • Work with educators to help develop study guide materials that will assist teachers in enhancing the importance of the festival programming.
  • Assist the Artistic Producer with shows and artists as requested.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Must have training or previous experience in marketing, public relations and/or special events. Preference is given to anyone with experience in the education system.
  • Must possess strong written and verbal skills.
  • Must speak both English and French fluently.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines, perform under pressure, be a team player, and delegate tasks (previous supervisory experience is an asset).
  • Must be computer literate.

Additional Qualifications Required:

Eligible to participate in Ontario's Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:

1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week (part-time students and graduates may apply)


2. Live in Ontario


3. Legally authorized to work in Canada


4.
Have one, or both, of the following criteria:


a. Established an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit claim (regular or maternity/parental benefits ONLY)


b. Paid employee payroll premiums, i.e., employed in Canada, in
fiveof any five of the last ten years while earning an annual income of at least $2000 (gross).


Remuneration:

$620 (gross) per week for 32 hours ($19.375 average per hour) provided by the Province of Ontario.
