JOB TITLE:
Summer Recreation Coordinator

Summer 2023

35 Hours / Week - Term Position

JOB SUMMARY:

The Summer Recreation Coordinator will assist with the planning, set up and execution of a variety of summer activities and special events.

Seeking an energetic, organized, reliable, flexible, and team
- oriented person who enjoys working with a variety of individuals.

The position term starts in May and lasts for approx. 16 weeks (to be determined upon hiring). Applicants must be available to work occasional weekends and holidays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in planning and executing summer programs and activities.
Supervise groups of children as young as 5 for full day programming (programming will be outdoors as much as possible). Locations will vary throughout the Village of Port Williams.
Develop promotional materials, program registration, social media communications, etc.
Maintain knowledge of scheduled daily activities and features / services of the village.
Assist participants/community members with recreational requirements.
Effectively and efficiently handle participant /community member concerns.
Maintain accurate knowledge of local attractions and activities to recommend for participants/community members inquiries.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing job duties, the employee is required to reach with arms and hands, bend and stoop, remain at a standing post for extended periods of time; may be required to lift up to 30lbs.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D., experience related to recreational programming is an asset. Computer skills are also an asset (Microsoft office).

CERTIFICATES:
First Aid and CPR

AED certification an asset

Job Types:
Full-time, Seasonal

Contract length: 14 weeks

Salary:
$15.00 per hour
