Job Summary:


The Team Lead - Mental Health and Addiction Support Workers, is a member of an inter-professional leadership team and is responsible for the management of all day-to-day operations, strategic planning, supervision, and training of Support Workers.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide supervision and support to the Support Workers both individually and on a team basis.
  • Orientating, facilitating and reinforcing Support Worker's involvement in the client treatment experience, ensuring support of Policies and Procedures. Maintain a therapeutic environment conductive to the clients learning productive patterns of living
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new processes and policies in conjunction with management as it relates to Support Workers.
  • Assist staff in promoting selfdirected learning, and in achieving and maintaining professional standards.
  • Assist staff with planning, organizing, and maintaining required supplies, equipment, and physical facilities within the building.
  • Formulate monthly staffing schedule to ensure adequate staff coverage for delivery of safe patient care.
  • Responsible for participating in the hiring of Support Worker staff.
  • Ongoing assessment and evaluation of staff including annual performance appraisals with the Support Staff Supervisor.
  • Participate in Inservice and ongoing educational activities.
  • Perform other duties as outlined on shift duty lists and as assigned by Support Staff Supervisor.
  • Maintain current C.P.R. Be knowledgeable of the company's Safety Procedures.
  • Assist with or organize education and training of and for staff.
  • Is attentive to and intervenes on any client safety issues observed. Adheres to the behaviors outlined in our policies and procedures that promote client safety
  • Motivate team members and assist in all areas to ensure workplace support and unity.

Qualifications:

  • Post secondary diploma in mental health related field or recovery.
  • Crisis training and/or deescalation training are considered a strong asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong ethics, empathy, and the ability to inspire others in the day to day.
  • Member of OHS committee is mandatory.
