Posting Title- ISL 24R - Security Analyst- Position Classification- Information Systems R24- Union- GEU- Location- Victoria, BC V9B 6X2 CA (Primary)- Salary Range- $69, $78,814.47 annually plus 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment- Close Date- 2/6/2023- Job Type- Regular Full Time- Temporary End Date- Ministry/Organization- BC Public Service -> Attorney General- Ministry Branch / Division- Information Systems Branch- Job SummaryWithin the Ministry of Attorney General, the Information Systems Branch (ISB) provides effective, efficient, collaborative and quality information management and information technology (IM/IT) advice and services to the justice and public safety sector and government enterprises.

As a key enabler of the sector's digital transformation, ISB supports client business needs while coordinating data and technology investments to provide common capabilities, integrated services, reusable data, and better value for money.

The Security Analyst conducts Threat Risk Assessments and leads the development of policies and standards for security information systems.

This role also investigates incidents, threats, and exposures, and develops and implements controls and risk-reducing measures to mitigate the threat of future exposures.


Job Requirements:


  • Degree, diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science field;
    OR,:
  • Completion of course work leading to a designation as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and two (2) years of related experience in the cyber security field;
    OR,:
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in identifying and evaluating IM/IT risks from a business and technological standpoint.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Professional designation in one or more of the following:
  • Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Cloud Certified Professional (CCSP)
  • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
