Shifts available: 1 Night Shift (7:30 pm - 6:00 am)
Monday - Thursday 2 Weekend Shift (7:30 am - 8:00 pm) Friday - Sunday
JOB SUMMARY
You will be tasked with finished product inspection, entry of non-conformances, auditing of processes to ensure compliance to standards and monitoring corrective actions for effectiveness on the production line.
As a key member of the Quality team, you report directly to the QC Supervisor.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Health and Safety
- Create and maintain a culture of Safety First.
- Works with the Health and Safety Department to ensure implementation of Toro Aluminum's OHSMS and adherence to all safety requirements.
- Report any known workplace hazards or violations of the Act to promptly in line with Company process.
- Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
- Perform visual and functional check of product at the end of multiple production lines to confirm that they meet or exceed customer expectations
- Oversee containment of nonconformances as they are detected. Escalate as necessary to supervision or management
- Investigate further to identify the Root cause of the NCR and participate in the corrective action.
- Sustain continuous feedback with the Quality Supervisor and Inspectors to ensure awareness of issues and actions taken to reduce or eliminate
- Utilize quality measurement tools to collect variable data as necessary
- Engage in routine process audits to confirm adherence to Standard Work, product standards and other pertinent documentation
- Maintain an open level of communication with management about quality related issues
- Provide support across buildings to maintain effectiveness of the Quality team
- Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information for nonconformances
- Create quality reports and present to the Quality Team and Production Team to support the drive for continuous improvement
- Conduct receiving inspection on incoming product: document all concerns, contain nonconforming material, provide relevant data for reporting
- Involve in the New Launches and prepare SOPs for New Process.
- To perform First article Inspection and submit Reports to Quality Supervisors.
- Support Testing process and Inspection as necessary
- Any other duties as requiredEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Postsecondary degree or diploma in related field preferred (Architecture, Construction, Building Science, Engineering)
EXPERIENCE
- 3+ years of industry experience
- 1+ years of auditing experience
SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of company manufacturing processes. Full understanding of Toro Window and Door systems and familiar with the most up to date version of each product production manual
- Proficient in use of tablet for drawing review and data entry
- Ability to read and understand break down documents in order to analyze units before shipment
- Department support in the form of monthly production meetings
- Use of inspection equipment and tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures and other gauges
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision
- Experience enforcing SOP's and product specifications
- Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Proven background in mathematics
- High level of attention to detail
- Superior communication skills must be able to effectively convey information to peers and management
