Position Overview:


Division 15 Mechanical is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Assistant to join our team in Richmond, BC on a full-time basis.

The Accounting Assistant will report to the Financial Controller and will work with the team in facilitating our growth while being responsible for processing Accounts Payable, and assisting with a variety of Accounting duties.

The Accounting Assistant will ensure that the company's goals for service, honesty and reliability are met and exceeded, and assist the company in maintaining a high level of customer service and administrative support in the industry.


Role & Responsibilities:


  • Pricechecking invoices against Pricing Agreements
  • Working with Sage Paperless and Sage 300 Construction to organize all invoices, statements, and other relevant documentation
  • Gathering approvals and recording invoices for processing; following up with monthly statements
  • Reconciliation of monthly credit card statements and expense reports
  • Assisting with weekly cheque runs, EFT Statements, monthend reconciliations, and billing breakdowns
  • Maintaining existing vendor/contractor records
  • Managing the Invoicing inbox by responding to queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Driving to bank to make deposits, as directed by the Controller
  • Assist with collection of draw and holdback payments, processing Change Orders (Procore/ DocuSign) and preparation of Statutory Declarations
  • Assist in sales and marketing activities, including compiling information for prequalifications, proposals, award submissions and other documents as needed
  • Assist in jobrelated filing and archiving, both hard and soft copy
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and controls

Skills, Experience, & Education Requirements:


  • A Diploma (or relevant certification) related to accounting or finance
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounting role
  • Combination of education and experience will also be considered
  • Experience with Sage Paperless and Sage 300 Construction would be an asset
  • Experience with MS Office Suite required
  • Demonstrated commitment to discretion and confidentiality
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Detail oriented, procedural in workflow, aptitude for accuracy
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workload to meet deliverables Experience and skill with data entry
  • Proficient with calculation and numbers
  • Can work independently with mínimal supervision
