The Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the financial and business needs of the organization through the production of financial information, analysis, and internal/external financial and adhoc reporting for various divisions, parent company and third parties.

The Financial Analyst is also responsible for preparation of journal entries, reconciliation and variance analysis for monthly financial statements, budgets, forecasts and annual audit.

This role will report to the Accounting Manager.


The successful applicant will:


  • Support the production of the Clarion monthly financial statements including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis
  • Responsible for Capital Assets, Prepaids and other specific general ledger accounts and sales rebate programs
  • Produce the monthly financial statements including general ledger, income statement, balance sheet, cash flow for one of Clarion's wholly owned subsidiaries
  • Prepare and analyze results against budgets, KPI and trends
  • Production of internal/external standard and adhoc reporting for various divisions, parent company and third parties
  • Support and implement operational and financial improvements
  • Work closely and provide backup for Finance team members
  • Support the production and analysis of budgets and forecasts
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field
  • CPA designation or pursuing designation
  • Understanding of IFRS
  • Entry level with 13 years of experience
  • Comfortable working with Sales, Marketing, Operations Department Leads
  • Experience working in a small to midsize organization
  • Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliation
  • Experience analyzing sales/costs/gross margin and expenses vs budget
  • Experience with budgeting and annual audit requirements
  • Highly organized with extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to operate and deliver under pressure of deadlines
  • Good team player work collaboratively and effectively as a team member
  • Knowledge of Great Plains or NetSuite would be an asset
