Reporting to the Executive Director, the
Director of Care is a critical role within the community ensuring that the home operates efficiently and delivers high-quality care to the residents.

What You'll Be Doing:
You will be a welcomed member of the Long Term Care team, working in a fast-paced environment where you will make a meaningful difference.
As a
Director of Care, you will lead a team of clinical professionals to build relationships with residents and their family members, offering a variety of support options and program choices that enrich their daily health and well being.
As a leader and part of a wider team, you will be a strong contributor to the culture of the home, where the focus is always on helping residents live fully, every day.
- Ensure Excellence in Resident Care
- Work effectively and efficiently with members of the nursing team and external partners to provide nursing duties to ensure clinical excellence at all levels in the care community
- Monitor and ensure clinical care processes is delivered according to individual plans of care for residents
- Lead, implement and monitor key clinical programs at the Care Community, such as falls prevention, skin and wound care, continence care and pain management
- Coordinate, implement, evaluate and monitor the performance metrics of care processes for RAI MDS Program, Nursing Rehab, and Restorative Care
- Collaborate with the Clinical Partners on issues related to infection control and coordinate monitoring of all activities at the Care Community
- Meet Regulatory Compliance
- Comply with required company policies, provincial regulations and applicable long term care legislations
- Participate actively in committees, both internal and external, as outlined in the terms of reference and area of responsibility
- Support the Clinical Partner in conducting audits to determine effectiveness of clinical care services in the Care Community
- Ensure nursing supplies and equipment are available and maintained according to policies and practices
- Lead, Coach and Engage Team Members
- Promote a resident centred care approach to ensure high quality compassionate care is provided to residents
- Model and foster an environment of positive customer service across all aspects of care with team members and external partners
- Support with all hiring, training and coaching of the nursing staff
Who You Are:
- You are compassionate and dedicated to meaningful work that supports seniors in living life fully
- You have completed a Bachelor of Nursing Science or have an equivalent post diploma education
- May have completed Gerontological Nurse Certification (GNC)
- You are currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses
- Have minimum 1 year experience working as a Registered Nurse in Long Term Care
- Have a minimum of 23 years experience working as a Registered Nurse in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a healthcare setting
What you need to know:
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
