The Food Services Advisor will ensure policy and procedures are followed and provide appropriate tools to staff in order to supply nutritious and safe food to patients in a timely manner.
Temporary Part-Time
Rate of Pay:
$29.28 per hour - $36.62 per hour
Hours of Work:
Up to 22 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of a Twoyear diploma in Food & Nutrition Management or as acceptable by the hospital
- Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) certification required
- Minimum 2 years related job experience
- Knowledge of food science, therapeutic nutrition, food bacteriology, food service operations, preferably in an acute health care setting
- Ability to selfdirect, prioritize work and balance competing priorities in a changing environment
- Demonstrated critical thinking and decisionmaking skills
- Demonstrated excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
- Demonstrated ability to identify, anticipate and address patient needs and satisfaction
- Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and corporate productivity tools (ex. CBORD)
- Facilitation and coaching skills
- Demonstrated successful team member and team builder
- Specific knowledge of food service management principles
- Knowledge of Occupation Health and Safety Act
- Experience working in a unionized environment preferred
- Thorough knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- Basic background in clinical nutrition
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
Immunization Requirements:
Before beginning employment at LHSC, all new hires will be required to:
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis;
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step);
- **Provide proof of Health Canada-approved COVID-19 vaccination reflective of Ontario Health's current definition of being fully vaccinated
