What you will do
***The mental wellness facilitators will work collaboratively with other staff and participants. The facilitators are responsible for screening and intake of group participants, delivering program sessions online/in-person, connecting virtually with participants once individually following program completion, and providing appropriate community referrals for program participants if needed.

You will support YMCA Youth Programs to promote physical, social and mental wellbeing, personal development, leadership skills, and more. You will facilitate connections to wrap-around services, networks and opportunities that enable youth to discover their potential


What you will bring
Given the specific nature of this role, you will have:

  • Higher level education in mental health or counselling related field (such as a masters in Counselling or Social Work) or equivalent combination of experience and education required (ie. BSW and 3 years' experience in the field)
  • Experience working with youth years of age) experiencing mildtomoderate anxiety and mood problems
  • Experience facilitating mental wellness/psychoeducational groups
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience conducting intakes and assessments
  • Ability to recognize mental health signs and symptoms beyond the mildtomoderate spectrum and to provide referrals to appropriate medical and community agencies
