About the role

We're looking for an Analyst, Corporate Development to join our team

:


In Corporate Development, we work on strategic projects that have a meaningful impact for Intact. Our team specializes in acquisitions and other large and complex transactions. As Intact's roadmap includes expanding our leadership position in Canada, strengthening our leading position in UK & Ireland and building a specialty solutions leader, our team has many opportunities to contribute to the success of the company. We work closely with senior management to identify and execute on opportunities that can define the future of Intact.

We are looking for someone curious and resourceful, with excellent analytical skills and communication abilities to join our team. If you are interested in the fast-paced and dynamic world of M&A, this role might be for you

This is a full-time permanent position based in Toronto, ON
. We operate in a hybrid model, meaning you'll be in the office a minimum of three days per week and have flexibility to work remotely (if you choose) for the remainder of the week.

What you'll do here

:

-
Providing a broad range of analytical, research, and presentation preparation support to the team.

:

-
Managing several projects and tasks at once, while working effectively as part of a team.

:

-
Conducting comprehensive and in-depth company and industry research.

:

-
Monitoring and interpreting daily current events relevant to the domestic and international P&C insurance markets, including regularly updating or creating intelligence databases and presentation materials.

Assisting in the management and execution of all aspects of a transaction process, including assessing the opportunity from both a strategic and financial perspective, conducting due diligence, reviewing deal documentation, and monitoring post-acquisition integration and results.

What you bring to the table

:

-
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, actuarial science, or any combination of equivalent education and experience

:

-
2 years of experience in a similar role such as investment banking, financial/analytics, or in an actuarial position. P&C insurance industry experience is preferred

:

Superior analytical and quantitative skills

:

-
Understanding and use of insurance metrics in analysis and financial valuation models

:

-
Highly effective written and oral communication abilities

:

-
High degree of maturity and professionalism with exceptional attention to detail

:

-
Can play a key role as a team member in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment

:

-
Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel

:


P&C insurance experience, such as operational expertise, understanding of key underlying business drivers, and knowledge of insurance business models (e.g. broker, direct, etc.), as well as knowledge of MSA Research and SNL Financial
