What Will You Do?

Understand operational procedures specifically the dock, yard, and dispatch operations
Supervise and assign staff for loading and unloading within Erb International
Assist staff in the loading, sorting and unloading of freight.
Checking orders to ensure accuracy.
Responsible to prioritize incoming and outgoing freight.
Work with dispatch regarding loads, drivers, volume of freight and progress of dock and loading.
Must be aware of company Safety and Health policies at all times. Ensure all staff adhere to policies.
Completing daily dock reports
Supervise employees, communicate employee issues with supervisor and follow up when required.
Assist the Operations Manager in planning employee shifts and work schedule
Conduct, and participate in regular safety & operational meetings.
Collaborate with Operations Manager communicating with supervisor regarding operational/shipping problems
All other duties as required.

Who Are We Looking For?

Two (2) years of experience equivalent to the job description or in the transport/warehouse industry preferred.
Forklift Certified Required
Reach-Truck Certificate would be an asset
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experienced in managing/guiding coworkers with assigned tasks
Team player with a strong attention to detail.
A positive attitude, dependable, on time for work, and respectful with clients or coworkers
Good understanding of safe work practices and ability to safely operate dock equipment.
Flexibility to cover shifts in the dock and cold storage areas
