The Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences (CNS) is a diverse, city-wide, clinical academic department at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry.

Faculty members are located at Western University, London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), and Parkwood Hospital of St. Joseph's Health Care, London (SJHC). The Department has research affiliations at both the Robarts Research Institute and Lawson Health Research Institute.


Responsibilities:


Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Masters of Science in Medical Biophysics, Psychology or Neuroscience
  • PhD in Medical Biophysics or Neuroscience is preferred
  • Experience:
  • 5 years' experience managing research studies in a clinical academic research environment, with accountability for human resources, finance, and administration
  • 3 years' experience developing and managing research budgets
  • 3 years' experience designing, executing, and evaluating clinical research studies
  • Evidence of success in the preparation and publication of manuscripts, grant and ethics submissions, and writing research protocols
  • Experience with supervising and leading a team to operationalize research projects
  • Experience working with and analyzing large datasets
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong background in advanced imaging techniques
  • Selfdriven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality work outcomes and strong productivity
  • Ability to perform both standard and complex clinical trial design and statistics with accuracy, precision and reliability
  • Professional and effective interpersonal skills to interact with trainees and other university personnel on a daily basis to maximize the research productivity of the lab personnel
  • Extensive knowledge of fMRI, MRS and DTI
  • Extensive knowledge of innovative academic research in the area of imaging
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to multitask with targeted goals
  • Project management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously from conception to completion within a prescribed timeline
  • Ability to research and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Possess a reputation for resourcefulness and a strong sense of accountability and initiative
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours and travel on occasion
