Boart Longyear is looking for a Diamond Bit Technical Representative to support our growing Production Products business in Canada.

In this role you will be providing technical support to our sales team that is interacting with our Canadian mining customers.


In this role you will be a key member of our sales support team that continues to develop business with our existing and new mining customers.

On site product testing, evaluating and training will be key components of this job. You will also be involved with Product Management and Engineering providing field support and analysis of new product development.


The location of this position is flexible as long as it is located in a mining center in Western Canada.


  • Provide support to the Canadian Sales Management Team to increase diamond product sales
  • Assist with strategy development and implementation to gain new customers
  • Work with existing diamond product customers on improving performance to retain or gain additional business
  • Provide market feedback on competitor activities and market share
  • Assist the Drilling Services team in the development and testing of new products
  • Provide the internal Customer Service Reps with support and advice in customer orders for diamond products

Job Requirements

  • Willingness to travel regularly within the Canadian region
  • Confident dealing on a one to one basis with customers, therefore previous sales experience desirable
  • Strong technical understanding of the core drilling process and the products used within.
  • Drilling and prior experience in a related training role well regarded.
  • Team focus as will need to work as a support for the complete region
  • Ability to prepare technical reports

Qualifications:

  • 35 years of underground production tooling drilling experience
  • Postsecondary education: college /university in a mining related field.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Completion of Underground Common Core Modules

You Bring The Following Skill Set:

  • Proficiently bilingual in English and French
  • verbally and grammatically
  • Proficient in computer software such as Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Ability to work underground in a safe manner with mine drillers and operations management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a professional consultative manner with mine personnel.
  • A good understanding of production drilling techniques
  • Able to work in a selfdirected manner when onsite running tooling testing programs, troubleshooting or problem solving.
  • You work well in a team environment.
  • Can articulate ideas in a meaningful constructive manner with the Sales team, Product Management and Engineering
  • Constructively interact with the Boart Longyear sales team, mine driller and management on product related issues at mine sites
  • Prepare detailed and accurate product testing reports.
Travel

  • In this role you will be traveling to customer mine sites on a regular basis.
  • Anticipate up to 50% of your time at mine sites.

Experience:


  • Underground Production tooling drilling: 3 years (required)
  • Technical support: 1 year (preferred)
