Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview:

Under the direction of the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and the Charge Technologist, Diagnostic Imaging, performs a variety of support functions including but not limited to patient transport, patient lifts, moves and transfers, clerical duties, film processing and handling functions.

Experience:

Experience working in direct patient care area required.
Experience in general office procedures.
Basic knowledge of computer and keyboarding experience required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):

Grade 1
It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of training.

Qualifications and Skills:

General skills and ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities relevant to the duties of the position.
Must be well organized and capable of working with a minimum of supervision and guidance and demonstrate flexibility and independence in planning work.
Demonstrated effective English language, verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
Ability to work well as a team member and seek assistance as necessary.
Works within the Centre's core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
Maintains confidentiality in accordance with PHIA regulations.
Must be able to work cooperatively, courteously and tactfully with others and demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with patients, pubic and all levels of staff.
Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.

Physical Requirements:

Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
Position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring and transporting patients and equipment.
