Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centred clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


Position Overview:


Under the direction of the Manager, Diagnostic Imaging and the Charge Technologist, Diagnostic Imaging, performs a variety of support functions including but not limited to patient transport, patient lifts, moves and transfers, clerical duties, film processing and handling functions.


Experience:


  • Experience working in direct patient care area required.
  • Experience in general office procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of computer and keyboarding experience required.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Grade 1
  • It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of training.

  • General skills and ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities relevant to the duties of the position.
  • Must be well organized and capable of working with a minimum of supervision and guidance and demonstrate flexibility and independence in planning work.
  • Demonstrated effective English language, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to a variety of simultaneous demands.
  • Ability to work well as a team member and seek assistance as necessary.
  • Works within the Centre's core values, philosophy, vision, C.Q.I. goals, policies and procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality in accordance with PHIA regulations.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively, courteously and tactfully with others and demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with patients, pubic and all levels of staff.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.

Physical Requirements:


  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Position involves extensive physical activity such as lifting, transferring and transporting patients and equipment.
