    We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our Team in Utopia, ON. The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible forperforming data entry and related duties in posting accounts receivable payments. This includes maintaining ledgers, credit balances, and resolving account irregularities. The A/R Clerk will also administer claims, refunds, adjustments, and any other accounting transactions related to A/R management. This position involves diplomatic interaction with customers to provide billing information and support in order to facilitate swift payment of invoices due to the organization.

    Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team lead to maintain collection goals and general A/R performance levels.
  • Communicate with internal/external representatives as necessary to complete job duties.
  • Post and reconcile customer payments.
  • Review all credit balances, refunds, and adjustments, and apply adjustments and/or corrections to corporate billing records.
  • Ensure the strict confidentiality and privacy of financial records as they relate to the organization and its customers.
  • Form collection strategies to mitigate customer objections to making timely A/R payments.
  • Investigate collection problems and advise customers on corporate A/R policies and procedures.
  • Make arrangements for payment of outstanding and late accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Skills, Education & Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Finance or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years direct experience in an A/R capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, and correct financial records.
  • Strong knowledge of collection regulations and fair credit practices.
  • Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information.
  • Experience in gathering data, compiling the proper information and reporting on transactions.
  • Able to perform moderate to complex account reconciliations.
  • Strong diplomatic, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills in order to handle late payments and delinquent accounts.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls.
  • Advanced proficiency with Business Central accounting software will be considered an asset.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments and key business partners from all departments.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
