What You Will Do

  • Spearhead comprehensive project development plans for new energy opportunities, leading processes from a project identification or RFP responses through project feasibility assessments to participation in final agreement negotiations and to implementation.
  • Proactively seek out innovative technical solutions and oversee the development of business cases, collaborating with internal teams on financial models' development.
  • Build and sustain business relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clients in the public and private sectors, ensuring alignment and commitment across projects.
  • Explore and secure new business opportunities, represent the organization at key industry events, and spearhead efforts to secure project funding through grants.
  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams through project feasibility, due diligence, and regulatory processes.
  • Maintain regular communication with FP&A and to manage project budget and with project management teams to ensure project milestones are met and client expectations are exceeded.

What You Bring

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Extensive experience in managing full project development cycles in the thermal energy or related sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop solutions that consider technical, financial, and regulatory factors.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of writing reports and conducting presentations.
  • Robust knowledge of thermal energy systems, project management, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook), willingness to adapt to new technologies.

Education and Experience:


  • Degree in Science, Engineering, Sustainable Energy, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the district energy, lowcarbon energy or building HVAC industry.

Working Conditions:


  • Hybrid working environment with occasional travel within North America.
