Reporting to the Lead, Workplace Experience, the Advisor, Workplace Experience, Recognition works closely with all members of the Workplace Experience team.

The Advisor creates and supports employee initiatives and programs designed to elevate PHSA's employee experience and improve retention.

The position also develops, recommends and implements employee experience programs and strategies that support the creation of workplace cultures by valuing and appreciating the contribution of employees and ensuring they are heard.

In addition, the Advisor provides leadership and direction to team members by advising and providing guidelines in situations requiring interpretation and/or providing additional information to assist in making and processing decisions.

Supervises staff, coordinates workflow/workload of the team, and works closely with the Lead on recruitment and performance management, including conducting performance reviews.

Coordinates training and orientation of team members as needed.


What you'll do

  • Leads and drives workplace experience programs designed to improve the engagement and retention of employees on a large and high volume scale.
  • Provides leadership, guidance and supervision to staff using effective leadership techniques (e.g., coaching, mentoring, skills and leadership development and performance management, including performance reviews.) Participates in staffing decisions related to recruitment, retention, discipline, and termination.
  • Manages the activities of staff and resources to ensure effective utilization, adherence to standards of quality, and effective and timely services delivery. Provides training and orientation to team members.
  • Drafts and participates in the development of the budget, produces recommendations, monitors expenses, reports on variances, and recommends and implements remedial action, in collaboration with leadership.
  • Engages and leads staff by creating a work environment that motivates and inspires team work that delivers high employee engagement. Establishes clear definitions of responsibility for each employee, ensures adherence to efficiency, quality and service standards, and provides coaching and guidance, and reviews workload assignments. Fosters a team culture of mutual respect, trust.
  • Works with various colleagues and stakeholders on workplace experience programs and supports the development of safe, inclusive and meaningful programs that are consistent and flexible enough to meet local needs.
  • Drives employee retention and engagement by analyzing and interpreting data and employee feedback to provide insights that are used to drive meaningful change.
  • Ensures high functioning and impactful employee experience programs across the employee journey. Aligns with corporate site and ensures best practices across all campaigns and search engines.
  • Leverages online technology to improve consistency and efficiency of large scale programs.
  • Creates strategy and recommendations for recognition and workplace experience programs in alignment with Workplace Experience objectives.
  • Builds and ensures consistent systems to support data tracking and analysis of metrics and employee feedback, in line with workplace experience strategies. Analyzes trends and creates regular reports.
  • Drives employee experience projects and upgrades, including research, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Audits and analyzes existing tools and recommends solutions that increase efficiency and produce ROI for Workplace Experience and PHSA as a whole.
  • Partners with Communications on launch of programs and initiatives.
  • Recommends improvements to programs and initiatives by using leading practice research and feedback and data to inform recommendations.
  • Manages administration of contracts with vendors. Builds and maintains strong working relationships with external vendors and stakeholders to enhance PHSA program development and implementation.
  • Provides support and guidance to clients by proactively and reactively resolving issues.
  • Conducts special projects as assigned or required.

What you bring

Qualifications:


A level of education, training and experience equivalent to Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field plus five (5) years of recent, related experience in developing employee experience/retention initiatives and programs such as onboarding, recognition, off-boarding, and employee voice.
