Reporting to:
Manager, Indigenous Relations


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Advance Indigenous Relations Strategy by providing assistance and support to the Corporate Development, Human Resources and Preconstruction Business Units
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and alignment of the Indigenous Relations Strategy
  • Attend Local and Indigenous Business Events, Trade Shows, Career Fairs, etc. to further support the objectives of the Indigenous Relations Strategy
  • Participate in the Indigenous Relations Working Committee and/or industry initiatives related to incorporating Local and Indigenous Content
  • Review and participate in the Local and Indigenous Content reporting; interpret the metrics and understand what is happening in the wider economic or business environment that might be influencing the figures/trends; make recommendations for opportunities
  • Provide information and training to Local and Indigenous Trade Partners on Clark Builders processes

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Indigenous communities and language(s)
  • Awareness of Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action
  • Awareness of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Calls to Justice
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of reconciliation principles for organizations
  • An understanding of United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)
  • Precise, timely, and professional communication with personnel in various departments
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong work ethic with internal drive to succeed

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing an Indigenous Relations or Studies program, or a social science degree with coursework in Indigenous Studies
  • Pursuing Bachelor's or master's degrees in supply chain management or Human Resources
  • Previous construction or oil and gas related internship experience is an asset
