Program Support - Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Clinic
Full-Time, Contract (up to 6 months)
London, ON

The RAAM Clinic offers community-based, low barrier services for patients seeking treatment for substance use disorders. The RAAM Clinic focuses on addiction medicine and offers both medication and psychosocial interventions to meet client goals.
As a Program Support, you will be supporting addiction counsellors, nurses, primary care providers and other community health service providers working to support addiction medical support for individual clients living with mental illness and addiction through a harm-reduction lens

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

What you'll be making - $ $22.88 per hour (Program Support II Grid).
- The above are initial rates; with grid increases as per policy
When you'll work:
- 70 hours over twoweek period, Monday-Friday

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

- Participate in the biopsychosocial approach to patient care providing support using Motivational Interviewing
- Employ safe work practices at all times
- Maintain a professional manner at all times in the performance of duties
- Greet and direct clients to appropriate resources and / or services
- Provide reception both in person and via phone as required
- Assist with client referrals
- Update, maintain and ensure accuracy of client information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Assist with analyzing data and relevant information to: compose reports, compile statistics, and prepare correspondence and agendas
- Monitor inventory of medical supplies and materials and order as required
- Other duties as assigned
- Provide basic health and personal care for clients as required
- Monitor clients receiving substitution therapies
- Participate in the implementation of care/treatment plans as directed
- Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse as directed
- Collect specimens for testing, e.g. urine drug testing
- Train clients in the administration of Naloxone
- Maintain inventory of supplies including cleaning and sterilization of equipment
- Follow universal precautions while performing all duties
- Follow security procedures at the beginning and end of clinics
- Perform other procedures as directed by members of the team
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:

_ We require the following qualifications:_
- Completed postsecondary education in a relevant field of study e.g. social work, psychology, or a related discipline
(primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e.
original degree or official transcript):
- Extensive knowledge of community resources, service & support programs, and barriers clients face in accessing same
- Working knowledge of a variety of treatment, intervention, and support strategies
- Computer literacy
- Ability to assess level of risk in regards to clients
- Valid Driver's License, adequate insurance and access to a vehicle to carry out job duties
- Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
We prefer the following qualifications:
_**- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience working in mental health, preferred
- First Aid & CPR
