    Description

    Purpose:

    The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 23, undergraduate and graduate students, and almost programs delivered through 24 Departments, Schools and Colleges, plus the IBM Markham Learning Site.

    Through innovative course design, diverse experiential education and learning opportunities, and a supportive community environment, our students receive the education they need to create big ideas that have an impact on the the direction of the Director, Strategic Communications & Marketing, the Senior Multimedia Specialist is responsible for conceptualizing, designing and executing creative solutions for the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies.

    Collaborating with the Director, Strategic Communications & Marketing, they bring forward innovative ideas and ways to enhance the scope of work, and acts as a creative resource for the Dean's Office, faculty, staff, and other key stakeholders in LA& Senior Multimedia Specialist will support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration and continuous improvement.

    Education:

    University or college diploma in communications/marketing, graphic design, media production or related study, or equivalent combination of formal training and experience such as completion of some relevant post-secondary courses plus 1 year related practical work experience.

    Experience:

    Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience designing a variety of printed and online communication products, capturing and editing video and multimedia production, including demonstrated experience liasing with wide range of stakeholders.

    Experience in a postsecondary environment an asset.

    Skills:

    Demonstrated skill and experience in translating ideas into imaginative, creative campaigns and materials - Experience working on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and often to tight deadlines.

    Experience developing creative ideas and concepts. Self-starter, able to identify opportunities, propose action plans, and drive them to completion.

    Advanced skills utilizing Adobe Creative Software including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and Flash, and Final Cut Pro- MAC OS, Microsoft Office Suite including Word (Intermediate), Excel (Introductory) and Powerpoint (Introductory).
