Young EnergyServe a Vertex Resource Group Company Ltd. looking for motivated, dedicated and skilled individuals with industry experience with Industrial Tank Cleaning Turnarounds. This position does require travel throughout Western Canada in order to meet the needs of our clients.
Roles and Responsibilities:
The robotics equipment operator is responsible for the movement, installation, operation, troubleshooting and removal of hydraulically operated washing and dozer equipment.
This position requires workers to have excellent hydraulic and electrical problem-solving skills, use various hand and power tools and other equipment.
During onsite activities, the robotics operator will be required to work closely with third party material handling services.- Rig in equipment: cannon(s), hoses, cables, pumps, supply lines, piping
- Provide signaling guidance to crane operator during blind lifts
- Operate and troubleshoot diesel drive generator and VSD systems
- Operate and troubleshoot electric drive pumps
- Install equipment to various equipment openings including roof and shell nozzles, properly securing units to openings
- Developing piping and hose configuration plans and installing hoses with hammer unions, Victaulic and flanged connectors
- Perform assigned emergency response roles
- Actively participate in safety meetings, tool box meetings, permit and hazard assessment reviews. Prepare hazard assessments as appropriate.
- Complete required inspection records for PPE and equipment
- Complete required daily paperwork including time tickets for clients as required
- Operation of computer systems, video recorder units
- Develop piping plans using Visio or AutoCad software
Qualification/ Experience Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in industrial cleaning operations
- Class 1 operator license with btrain experience required
- Require 10 year commercial abstract within 30 days with no demerits
- Previous experience driving on highway, secondary and on lease roads with heavy equipment
- Knowledge of how to chain up and when it's required
- In depth knowledge of:
- Professional commercial driver obligations,
- Load securement, load placement
- Highway traffic act, commercial vehicles act, hours of service
- Weigh scale operations and requirements
- Journey management program requirements
- Operation, care, maintenance and troubleshooting of tractors and trailer units, generators, hydraulic systems, and power packs
- Basic hand and power tools, pumps, filters and temporary tankage
- Material handling / rigging experience
- Occupational health and safety regulations, safety programs (company and client)
- Tank / vessel design and construction, terminology
- Reading and interpreting tank / vessel drawings
- Bonding and grounding of equipment
- Ability to take initiative, make key decisions, and use sound judgement
- Workers must be competent in use of fall protection
- Physically and medically fit, strong hand to eye coordination, (video game playing experience is beneficial)
- Strong attention to detail and proven capability to meet goals, prioritize and multitask
