Opportunity:
MacEwan University is seeking an IT Relationship Manager for a full-time continuing opportunity with the Information Technology Services department.
The IT Relationship Manager is a liaison between the IT Department & various administrative groups & Faculties within the University.
This position will be pivotal in aligning technology solutions with university goals, fostering collaboration, & ensuring the delivery of effective IT services that enhance overall performance.
This position will also assist University departments in the preparation of new project requests, help convey the needs in language most understandable to technology professionals while maintaining an institutional perspective.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build and strengthen a partnership between university departments and faculties to achieve MacEwan's strategic vision.
- Establishing "customer intimacy" by understanding a department or faculty's outcomes, goals, and operational challenges and understanding how ITS can contribute to their success.
- Serving as a twoway communication liaison between the assigned University departments or faculties and ITS.
- Working collaboratively with end users and IT staff to develop business cases, including prioritization and cost/resource analysis.
- Help the unit assess ITS's performance relative to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and communicate any needs for change.
- Participating in the IT annual budgeting and planning process for the assigned departments and faculties and communicates IT spending.
- Working with IT project management team to maintain the IT Multiyear Technology Plan based upon IT framework, ongoing projects and work efforts, and future state planning.
- Proactively identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains through technology solutions and collaborating with business leaders to understand their needs and translate them into IT requirements.
- Ensuring streamlined and transparent demand intake processes that ensure alignment of IT services and projects to strategic goals, stakeholder needs, and resource capacity.
- Liaising and partnering with external stakeholders (service providers, vendors, contractors) to ensure uptodate knowledge of products, progress of projects, and to ensure business relationships are fostered and maintained.
- Ensuring consistent and effective communication of plans and projects to stakeholders.
- Serving as a "single point of contact" for the department or faculty if that unit needs updates or direction on submitting work requests.
- Contributing to a culture of multiyear planning and continuous improvement.
