Description
The Community Integration Manager is responsible for developing community engagement initiatives and ministry programs.

The Community Integration Manager will draw upon their knowledge of Toronto's Downtown East region and leverage internal and external community partnerships to optimize mission impact on the frontline and forge strong, meaningful connections with volunteers, beneficiaries, neighbours, donors, and congregants.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Program and Service Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and leadership to relevant Community and Family Services communitybased programs and special events, ensuring ministry and program objectives are consistently met within Salvation Army mission, vision, policies, funder expectations, and all legal requirements.
  • In collaboration with the supervisor research, plan, develop, prepare, and deliver creative and innovative community programming designed to address community needs, while building on community capacity.
  • Ensure strong community/interagency partnerships and collaborations are formed and or maintained in order to develop new initiatives in the community.
  • Collaborate with key community leaders, identifying innovative partnerships and developing creative solutions for meeting the needs of Downtown East ( i.e. poverty, addiction, mental health, etc.).
  • Assist Corps Officers in managing relationships with community partners, and internal mission supports at the divisional and territorial levels.
  • Use a community based approached when reviewing or creating programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of different communities, ensuring community involvement in program development, design, and delivery; thereby building ownership and inclusion.
  • Identify gaps in service through trend analysis and develop activities, services and/or partnerships to fill these gaps in consultation with the supervisor.
  • Implement effective programs for key beneficiary groups (e.g., moms, families, young adults, students with developmental disabilities).
  • Operate within effective changemanagement, organizational development, and staff engagement principles to promote service excellence and develop strong teams.
  • Monitor and ensure consistency in case management systems and practices as required.
  • Develop the necessary systems, processes, and tools to better support the facilitation, collection and sharing of knowledge generated from programs, reports, and evaluations.
  • Facilitate a strategic assessment of the current Downtown East community resources, needs and opportunities and recommend a structure and key points of collaboration for success.
  • In collaboration with Corps Officers build, launch, and maintain an integrated mission strategy that serves community members, volunteers, employees, and congregants.
  • Develop a process for program feedback, tracking client engagement, satisfaction and implement strategies for program improvement.

Financial and Administration

  • Build a community resource database for effective client support.
  • Provide feedback to the supervisor on business and program matters to ensure program excellence through program and outcome evaluation, external consultation, continuous quality improvement and standards of ethical practice.
  • Responsible to ensure they work within the budget for their specific programs; provides input to the supervisor for the preparation of the annual budget.
  • Prepare and submit reports, proposals, program evaluations, and/or business plans as requested to supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate confidential written records, logs of activities, including activity reports and statistical information, are collected for each program and reports are submitted as required and client data in Link2Feed.
  • Prepare, analyze, submit, and act on incident reports and complaints, maintain records of all reports and deal with complaints effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Responsible to ensure monetary and nonmonetary donations received through their programs are accurately recorded and distributed following TSA Finance guidelines; ensuring information is forwarded on for the issuing of donation receipts for income tax purposes.
  • Oversee marketing of relevant programming.
  • Develop an annual/monthly calendar of events to support ministry unit priorities.
  • Ensure a dynamic social media presence for CFS communitybased programs.

Human Resources

  • Hire, orientate, train, evaluate, reward, and discipline in consultation with Corps Officers, ensuring compliance with The Salvation Army Policies and Procedures, with Corps Officer and Divisional Human Relations.
  • Develop strategies and recommendations for program staff and volunteer development.
  • Provide ongoing, consistent coaching, performance feedback, and manage the evaluation of staff.
