Information Technology Technical Support Technician - Paris, Canada - Tigercat Industries Inc.
Description
The Technology Support Technician is responsible for ensuring that the company's Information Technology infrastructure and processes operate in a manner that provides a high degree of performance, reliability, and security.
The position routinely acts in a technical lead capacity for projects, participates in Helpdesk and Systems issue resolution activities, and responds to systems alerts and fault notifications on-shift and after hours.
Day Shift - 5 x 8 hour shifts - Monday to FridayThis role will be supporting our Paris & Brantford Ontario locations
This is not a remote position
Responsibilities may include:
- Meet deadlines for workstation and printer Installations
- Participate in relocating PC equipment to various locations and perform workstationrelated setups
- Support and maintain all Tigercat's platforms, including physical, virtual, and cloudbased deployments
- Participate in creation of maintenance and service plans & perform preventative maintenance activities
- Travel between local Tigercat facilities as required
- Ensure the security of equipment and supplies
- Provide users with a fast, accurate, and secure method of gaining access to information that they require for working efficiently
- Be an active participant to meetings, providing information and recommendations
- Evolve and assess modern technologies in collaboration with other technical teams to evolve the ongoing roadmap
- Develop code needed for systems support/automation in scripting languages such as PowerShell, JavaScript, and Visual Studio. Automate repeatable processes and procedures
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in technical support, data center, Virtual Infrastructure Management, or related fields an asset
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills
- Ability to adapt to and learn fast new software
- Attention to detail in all areas of work
- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
- Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes across all levels in the organization
- Experience in Networking (Switches, Firewalls, WAN) considered an asset
- Willingness and own transportation to work at various plants as required
