As a Manager, Independence & Ethics [Professional Consultation] your responsibilities will include:

  • With direction from the National Director, Independence & Ethics:
  • Monitor and perform the initial assessment of changes to independence standards
  • Provide guidance to engagement teams on complex independence matters as required
  • Develop and update training materials on various topics
  • Understand corporate family trees and how to use online resources (regulatory filings, annual reports, etc.) to gather relevant information on family trees
  • Assist the National Director, Independence & Ethics with monitoring the regulatory requirements associated with long association of partners performing public company audit engagements
  • Assist in automating processes where appropriate / possible
  • Understand the various processes and tools maintained by the broader team in order to provide assistance during periods of highvolume activity, or team member absences
  • Ability to handle sensitive/confidential information appropriately
  • Perform other specialproject duties as required

  • CPA designation is an asset and a university degree in commerce, business or law
  • 4+ years of experience in a public accounting firm, supporting quality or risk systems, or in a similar practice or function
  • A good understanding of the types of services provided by a CPA firm
  • Understanding of corporate ownership structures and terminology (parent, subsidiary, brothersister, joint venture, global ultimate owner/parent)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to assume, prioritize, and execute multiple assignments
  • Takes direction well, while also having a natural disposition to take initiative and operate in a selfdirected and resultsoriented manner
  • Ability to interact professionally with Partners and all levels of employees as well as external vendors and clients
  • A team player and ability to work with others to accomplish a common goal
