The role of the Actuarial Specialist is to assist in the ongoing management of financial and non-financial risks faced by the Life Company.

Key objectives of the role are to support the ongoing development of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and Asset Liability Management (ALM) processes.

Key responsibilities include model development, maintenance, validation and summarizing/aggregating of results for ALM and ORSA reporting purposes.


How you will create impact:


  • Oversee the ongoing development of our Economic Capital and ALM models in GGY AXIS.
  • Coordinate the generation of adverse scenarios as well as reference newly published information (e.g. risk studies, new guidelines) to recalibrate existing stress levels and incorporate changes as assumptions and mix of business evolve.
  • Assist with maintaining the existing ORSA aggregation and overall framework and support any necessary improvements.
  • Oversee the ALM reporting process by coordinating the calculation of interest rate risk exposure statistics and other risk measures, consolidating results and assisting in the development of reporting material.
  • Assist with establishing and updating risk limits in line with risk appetite.
  • Develop new procedures and update existing ORSA/ALM process documentation as needed.
  • Oversee the modelling of various asset classes in AXIS. Knowledge of financial models and market valuation techniques is considered an asset.
  • Coordinate and assist a team of 23 actuarial students and support the ALM and ORSA Senior Managers as needed.
