In this role, you will:


Complete accurate, timely and high-quality internal audits, in accordance with department standards, that includes but not limited to Regulatory, Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR), Information Technology (IT) and operational audits.

Prepare audit reports with clearly communicated findings, and value-added recommendations that will aid management in managing risks and achieving business objectives.

Ensure follow up and remediation of all findings are performed in a timely manner.
Assist management on special projects and assignments as needed.
Work effectively and collaboratively as a team member within internal Audit.

Maintain good business relationship with other business areas as we partner for progress with other departments to achieve our business objectives.


In year 1, you will:
Develop a thorough understanding of our Gas and Electric business processes while building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Conduct and complete assigned audits with guidance and collaboration from team members.
Document, discuss, propose remediation and follow-up on audit findings with relevant stakeholders.
Learn key elements of Data Analytics relevant for Internal Audit control testing and familiarize with the ERP systems.


In year 2, you will:


Independently conduct and complete assigned audits as well as investigate, discuss, propose remediation and follow-up on any audit findings and recommendations.

Perform follow-up audits to ensure findings are closed on timely basis.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with and educate process owners regarding the importance of maintaining strong internal controls and role of internal audit.
With assistance, develop and enhance testing procedures leveraging Data Analytics


What it takes:
A Business Degree completed, or a Professional Accountant designation (CPA), or a Certified Internal Auditor designation (CIA), or a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) plus a minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in Internal Audit or an equivalent combination of education, training and 6+ years' experience in Auditing and Financial Accounting
Experience in working on multiple projects and working within a variety of business areas.

Knowledge of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Understanding of SOX, internal controls, COSO and COBIT frameworks is an asset.
Knowledge of, and experience in, power and natural gas utilities is an asset.
Working knowledge of MS MS Office (Word, excel, Outlook); OneNote is beneficial.
Working knowledge of large ERP systems, such as SAP is beneficial.
Working knowledge of data analytics software programs as such ACL Analytics, Tableau Desktop, Alteryx, Power BI is an asset.
