Position Summary:


Job Duties/Responsibilities:

- supporting Division I and II students in the French Immersion program
- providing literacy, numeracy, socialization and behaviour support
- assisting with planning and adapting curriculum to meet the individual needs of students under the guidance of the teacher
- providing one-on-one and small group support
- providing motivation to the students and encouraging participation in learning activities
- supervising students during school arrival and departure and recess
- supporting the organization and maintenance of the library collection


Education/Qualifications:

- a two year post secondary program in a related field
- a minimum of one year of related experience preferably in an educational environment
- experience working with and providing interventions to students who have developmental delays and learning disabilities
- experience supporting students who have emotional and/or behavioural challenges and physical/medical disabilities
- proven ability to implement effective de-escalation strategies
- excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- proven success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships

Rate of Pay:

$ $26.50 per hour
