About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Law Clerk to support the firm's lawyers on civil litigation matters.

You will report to the Office Manager and will work in a team with other Law Clerks and Legal Administrative Assistants.

Key duties include:

Managing a busy litigation practice, including scheduling examinations and motions and arranging for service and filing of court and tribunal documents
Preparing briefs, affidavits of documents, pleadings, and other court and tribunal forms
Drafting, proofreading, and editing correspondence
Conducting simple legal research
Support for both civil litigation and construction lien matters
Opening and closing files and other administrative work
Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information
Ability to deal with clients in a professional and courteous manner

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years' experience as a law clerk
Knowledge of court forms, court processes and procedures, and the Rules of Civil Procedure
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills and an excellent team player
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Construction lien experience is an asset
