Primary Duties
Provides maintenance and operational performance for the gas distribution utility, and service group. This role will perform the various functions provided by the Service and Gas Operations Groups.

In addition they will utilize advanced knowledge of the operational and maintenance functions of gas regulating, including large commercial regulators, and regulators built into our gas distribution system.

This role will also provide maintenance and operational functions for heaters and odorant systems, and other systems which relate to the regulating stations.

Major Accountabilities
Operational Functions

  • Operate, size, inspect and maintain gas regulating equipment including, large commercial regulators, and regulators built into our gas distribution system.
  • Provide maintenance and operational functions for heaters and odorant systems, and other systems which relate to the regulating stations.
  • Maintain and repairs of gas infrastructure including excavation, maintaining valves and repairing leaks
  • Installation, remove, trouble shooting, connect and disconnection of gas, electric, and water meters.
  • Inspection of third party gas appliances.
  • Repairs hot water tanks.
  • Trouble shooting and responding to emergencies in gas construction, service and regulating.
Administrative Functions

  • Documents field investigations, inspections, system status and operational issues.
  • Investigates and documents systems, failures or problems.
  • Report operating activities and status to the Operations Centre
  • Documents and reports incidents of regulatory noncompliance to the Manager and regulatory authorities.
  • Plans and organizes work related to regulating
  • Contacts customers and suppliers to make appointments or source parts to resolve issues
  • Identifies and proposes improvements to operational plans, procedures, standard operating procedures, and work and system processes.
  • Identifies and communicates to the Manager any requirement for improvement, reconstruction, replacement or refurbishment of facilities, infrastructure, and equipment.
Occupational Health and Safety

  • Understands and works within the confines of all applicable rules and regulations
  • Identifies hazards and/or participates in/ or document tailboard conferences
  • Reports health and safety hazards with an unacceptable level of risk and offer potential solutions to supervisors
Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required

  • G2 Gas License
  • MTI


  • GUT

  • Ability to obtain GPI license
Special Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment

  • Valid class G drivers license
