Purpose_**Contributes to the overall success of the ScotiaRISE and DEI community investment portfolio by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities_** Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

Lead and deepen relationship management of a portfolio of ScotiaRISE charitable partners:

Implement gift agreements in a timely manner in coordination with the charity, and internal departments such as Operations, Legal and Regional partners.

Lead and operationalize a consistent and timely engagement model with community partners; from initial onboarding to periodic touch base meetings to year end impact reporting to fulfilling obligations to meet the grant payment timing.

Profile ScotiaRISE community partnerships.
Act as the key conduit to internal stakeholders and ScotiaRISE community partners for marketing and communication needs.
Ongoing Relationship management with charitable partners with the objective of prioritizing key activation opportunities.

Contribute to the strategic direction of ScotiaRISE portfolio
Prepare of support materials required to review prospective opportunities for monthly Chair and bi-monthly Committee meetings.
Contribute towards renewal and/or exit strategies where required.

Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.


Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Dimensions_**- Countries / regions / business units supported: 14 Community Champions Internationally and 6 SMRMs in Canada.

  • Accountability for commitment to ScotiaRISE investment of $500 million over 10 years.
  • Liaise with, Operations, Community Investment, ERGs, Bank subsidiaries, Communications, Marketing, Sustainability and Legal in a matrixlike fashion on a regular basis
  • Number of projects: Manage a portfolio of ~115 ScotiaRISE relationships representing over ~$20MM, annually
  • Number of systems: (4) Benevity, Workfront, Yammer and Scotiabank Live
  • Responsible for adhering to Scotiabank's Community Investment policy
  • Although specific areas of responsibility will be assigned to the incumbent, work may be shuffled between members of the department to accommodate scheduling or workload conflicts. Projects may be related to any geographical area in which the Bank operates Incumbent will have to work on projects which require translation into various languages, including, but not limited to English, Spanish and French as well as accommodate various country needs.

Education / Experience / Other Information_**- 3-4 years of Corporate Social Responsibility experience in a corporate environment

  • Post-Secondary degree in related field
  • Master's or equivalent degree an asset
  • Fluent in Spanish/English is an asset
  • Knowledge of corporate giving software
  • Excellent problemsolving skills across different cultural contexts
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about social impact

Working Conditions_** Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Some travel may be required.
A fast pace and dynamically changing environment characterizes the situation in which the incumbent works.

The incumbent must stay in time with this constantly evolving environment and must use initiative and creativity to seek out solutions to problems and opportunities, which are generally non-routine and unique in nature.
