At Grand River Hospital, Personal Support Workers are known as Clinical Assistants, and we currently have a number of opportunities for Clinical Assistants to join our teams across our KW and Freeport Campuses.
How Clinical Assistants (PSWs) support our teams and patients at Grand River Hospital:
At Grand River Hospital, our Clinical Assistants (PSWs) deliver exceptional levels of care, support and assistance to patients.
This may include assisting with personal care and hygiene needs, preventative skin care, nutrition support and attending to special care needs of patients.
Our Clinical Assistants may also escort patients to diagnostic testing, document and record patients' personal information and care delivered.
Our Clinical Assistants are key members of our unit teams ensuring quality of care and a safe and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, colleagues and partners.
At Grand River Hospital, our Clinical Assistants (PSW):
- Have successfully completed an approved Health Care Aide Program; or hold a Personal Support Worker Diploma/Certification from a recognized program; or have completed the 1st year of a Nursing Program (BScN or Practical Nurse) from an accredited college or university
- Hold a CPR certificate at the Heart Saver Level and Standard First Aid
