SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team.The Manager, Energy Market Development identifies and develops new energy market opportunities to help shape future service offerings of the Corporation.
This position is responsible for investigating, evaluating, and supporting the implementation of energy transition opportunities related to SaskEnergy's corporate strategy.
The Manager, Energy Market Development, is responsible for technical analysis, feasibility assessments and the preparation of business proposals that meet corporate business objectives related to new and/or existing energy market opportunities (e.g. CCUS, RNG, Hydrogen, etc.).Position Details- Non-union - This position is permanent full time.
Key Accountabilities- Conduct market and technical research to establish business opportunities relative to SaskEnergy's corporate strategy.- Prepare feasibility studies and business proposals that address technical viability, market characteristics, regulatory considerations, risk factors and financial return for new opportunities.- Strategically design and execute client relationship management strategies to develop new connections and proactively nurture existing relationships. Foster effective customer and industry relationships that position SaskEnergy as a strategic collaborator for prospective business opportunities.- Facilitate energy transition in partnership with other departments at SaskEnergy, outside organizations, and provincial, federal, municipal, and community-based partners.- Engage consultants for various initiatives, ensuring quality and alignment with project goals and deliverables.- Effectively communicate the results and performance measures of implemented projects and initiatives, sharing project outcomes and performance data with relevant stakeholders.- Comply with applicable corporate standards, policies, and practices and legislation and regulatory requirements.- Assist other business units in the evaluation and execution of business development related projects.- Other related duties as assigned.
An MBA, professional accounting or engineering designation would be considered an asset.- Ten (10) years of experience in the energy industry.- Experience working within programs that focus on renewable energy and the transition to a low-carbon economy.- Strong critical thinking abilities demonstrated with independent thought, objective analysis, and innovative problem-solving.- Well-developed interpersonal and diplomacy skills with demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and lead by influence.- Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to grasp complex technical concepts and synthesize them into clear and meaningful communications for the target audience.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for coordinating across teams and presenting ideas to stakeholders.- Experience in coaching and managing staff would be considered an asset.
A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional Information- Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters may be required.- A Class 5 Driver's license is required.
